פסיכולוג קליני ורפואי בכיר ומומחה בטיפול מיני. סיים בהצטיינות לימודיו
באוניברסיטה העברית ובאוניברסיטת אילינוי. כעת בפרקטיקה פרטית.
מנהל את המרפאה לטיפול מיני בבית החולים "משגב
לדך" בירושלים ומנחה קבוצות להורים שכולים. בעבר עבד בבי”ח פסיכיאטרי, היה מנהל מחלקה לנוער אוטיסטי, ושמש כיועץ בשרות הפסיכולוגי ב”בצלאל” -
האקדמיה לאמנות ועיצוב בירושלים. שרת בצה"ל כקצין בריאות נפש (סרן, מיל.)

אורי ורניק הוא חבר בועד
המנהל והמייסד של
transtherapy פרסם מאמרים בעיתונות המקצועית בנושאים של מיניות,
יצירתיות והפסיכולוגיה של הדת. פרסם כתבות
ומדורים בין היתר, בירחונים, "משקפיים", "פסיכו",
"את" ובשבועונים "לאשה" ו "ירושלים". הרבה להרצות בפני חוגים מקצועיים והקהל הרחב. הוא נשוי לאילנה,
עובדת סוציאלית, מטפלת משפחתית ותכשיטנית חובבת. שניהם מתגוררים בירושלים ולהם
שלושה ילדים בוגרים נכד
ונכדה. בנו הבכור הוא
פסיכולוג קליני בעצמו.

Dr.
Wernik is a senior Clinical
Psychologist and certified Sex Therapist. He is in private practice. His work
experience includes directing the Misgav Ladach Hospital Sex Therapy Clinic in
Jerusalem; heading a unit for
autistic adolescents in a psychiatric hospital; staff and student psychologist
in the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and group leader for bereaved parents
of fallen soldiers. He served in the IDF as a mental health officer (Captain,
Res).
Dr.
Wernik is a graduate of the
Hebrew University of Jerusalem (M.A. cum laude) and of the
University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
(Psy.D). He is a founding member and former chairman of The Israeli Association
of Sex Therapy. He has published in professional journals articles on
sexuality, psychology of religion and creativity. He has published many
articles in Israeli monthlies and weeklies. He is the founder and a member of
transtherapy board of directors.
He is married to Irene, a family therapist and
amateur silversmith. They live in Jerusalem and have three adult children
and two grandchildren. Their eldest son is a
clinical
psychologist too.
He has recently published
